This is the moment volunteer teachers of a remote village in the Philippines get stuck on dirt road with their supplies after their motorbike was caught in a muddy ditch on November 26.

Teachers from Pedro R. Abul Memorial High School in the remote town of Cantiban in Negros Oriental share a single motorbike modified with two planks locally called "habal-habal" to carry their supplies. The motorbike gave in because of the weight and the group had to walk their way up the mountain village.

One of the teachers, Justin Cid Paul Balauro, said the weather condition is partly the reason for the difficult road.

He said: "From the highway, we usually depart very early in the morning and arrive around late depending on the weather condition. We are not complaining about our job. Only that, the road is no longer good for the habal habal drivers and passengers."

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) in Negros Oriental said it is fast-tracking several projects involving the widening of roads and bridges before the President Duterte's term ends in 2022.
