Making good use of a government-imposed 21-day lockdown, which has ordered humans to stay indoors, a leopard preyed upon a defenceless dog in an empty street in northern India.

The incident took place in Tehri Garhwal district of Uttarakhand, a popular hill state and tourist destination, on April 5, 2020.

The lockdown directive was passed down by the government of India in its drive to limit the spread of novel coronavirus, a pandemic affecting more than a million people across 180 countries.

Meanwhile, the limited movements of humans have brought a smile on the faces of nature and animal lovers as wild animals have been spotted traversing the empty streets across the nation.

According to the video, the leopard was seen charging towards the quadruped, catching it unaware in its sleep.

Following this, the predator picks up the dog and disappears into a jungle nearby.

However, no other casualties were reported after the incident.
