Strandfontein Homeless Camp - What's the truth??

The City of Cape Town has moved homeless people off the streets to a camp at the Strandfontein Sports Grounds, in an effort to contain the spread of the virus amongst homeless people.

However, there seems to be opposing views as to whether the City consulted the residents before setting up the camp for the homeless.

The ward councillor for the area, Elton Jansen, claims the city never consulted him nor the residents.

JP Smith, the City's head of safety and security, says the Executive Mayyor Dan Plato had meetings the community.

Sandy Schuter, a member of the community policing forum, also claims the City never consulted the community.
