A 37-year old man, identified as Fayyaz Nempurwala, was stabbed and left to bleed out in full public view in western India's Maharashtra on November 28. The incident took place on a foot overbridge at the Kurla railway station in Mumbai.

CCTV footage witnessing the incident features the busy foot overbridge of the station, while a man carrying a bag enters the scene with a hooded assailant tailing him. Suddenly, the assailant attacks the man and stabs him. The victim retaliates against the goon's advances, but the assailant does not budge. After attracting a lot of public attention, the goon fled the scene, leaving the victim behind to bleed out.

The onlookers were taken aback by witnessing the ruckus. However, when the victim fell to the ground and started bleeding out, the station manager was informed and the Government Railway Police (GRP) was summoned.

Nempurwala sustained injuries on his chest and abdomen. He was rushed to the Bhabha Hospital near Kurla station and later shifted to the Sion Hospital, where he underwent surgery on the night of November 28.

Nempurwala was returning home after wrapping up some professional business when the attack happened. However, the assailant was unable to rob the victim of the Rs. 2 lakh (2,704.56 USD) that he had in his bag. A case has been registered against the unidentified goon under Section 307 (attempt to murder) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), while a further probe is underway.
