Air Customs officials seized methylenedioxymethamphetamine (MDMA) tablets, commonly known as ecstasy or molly, and meth crystals worth Rs. 6.6 lakh (USD 9,050) smuggled from the Netherlands through postal parcels in southern India's Tamil Nadu on February 16.

The incident took place in Chennai.

A video witnessing the incident features an official cut opening a package and discovering MDMA pills ingeniously concealed within a soup packet inside it.

Following this, they open a greeting card that says 'Gefelici teerd' and obtain a small ziplock packet containing meth crystals. The staff seize all these items and assemble them on the counter.

The customs officials detained two unregistered postal parcels at the foreign post office. The first package was addressed to a Nammakal based person.

On opening it, a soup packet named 'Knorr Rundvlees Jus' was found that contained 100 MDMA tablets called Blue Punisher and was valued at Rs. 4 lakh (USD 5,489).

The second parcel was addressed to a Chennai-based person. The package contained a greeting card with Dutch words saying congratulations.

Inside the card, a zip lock pouch full of white crystal powder was discovered. The chemical tested positive for methamphetamine crystals, and a total of 26 grams (0.05 lbs) worth Rs. 2.6 lakh (USD 3,568) of it was seized.

The blue punisher and the methamphetamine crystals worth Rs. 6.6 lakh (USD 9,050) were seized under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985. Moreover, an investigation into the matter is underway.
