Authorities seized opium worth Rs 20 lakh (USD 27,578) in southern India's Telangana on March 19. The incident took place in the Lemur village, located in the Kandukur region of the Rangareddy district.

Visuals feature the police officials standing next to the accused in his poppy farm. He kneels in front of them and sits next to two sacs full of opium. Later, the officials narrate the entire details of the raid while displaying the seized crops.

The officials were tipped off about a person cultivating opium, following which the authorities conducted a raid. They seized 20 bags of opium, weighing 390 kg (859 lbs), worth Rs 20 lakh (USD 27,578).

Rachakonda police arrested D. Chennakeshavaulu, who was cultivating the banned crop in his village along with D. Venkataramana. Moreover, the duo sold the opium poppy straw to customers in Hyderabad, Bengaluru, and surroundings.
