There has been a spike in smuggling cases amid the pandemic in southern India's Andhra Pradesh on July 11. The incident took place at Kaza Toll Plaza in Mangalagiri in the Guntur district.

Visuals feature the officials recovering the consignment of marijuana from within a lorry in broad daylight. They further seize the sacks and concealed packets crammed with narcotic items and keep a check on them for further investigation.

During a regular inspection at the toll plaza, the officials scanned the truck and retrieved around 1000 kg (2204 lbs) to 1200 kg (2645 lbs) of cannabis from within the transport. The officials then arrested three smugglers involved in transporting the materials from Visakhapatnam to Chennai and detained them for further investigation in the case.
