A wedding ceremony was organised for two frogs as locals in central Indian believed it would encourage rainfall in the area.

Residents in Gurariya Haweli, Madhya Pradesh, surrounded the two amphibians that were placed on a podium.

Devotees believed that the frogs' marriage would invite monsoons to water their crops.

The locals organized a wedding ceremony for two frogs believing that it will encourage rainfall in central India's Madhya Pradesh on July 19. The incident took place in Guraria Haveli of Vidisha district.

The visual features a circuit of devotees gathered in a circle while two frogs sit on the podium waiting to get hitched. Later, the locals march the frogs as bride and groom in a parade for the village to bless them.

Furthermore, the villagers performed the oldest ritual of marrying the frogs, believing that it would invite the monsoons. Later, much to their relief, it actually rains in the region, blessing the crops.
