A female railway cop's swift action saved a woman's life after the latter slipped while boarding a moving train in eastern India's Jharkhand.

The incident took place on March 23 at the Chakradharpur railway station in West Singhbhum district.

Visuals, caught on a CCTV camera, showed a woman running towards a moving train and trying to board it. However, she slips and falls down. Standing close by, the female cop quickly pulls out the woman, saving her from slipping and going under the train's wheels.

The woman cop has been identified as Constable Wahida Khatun.

Speaking to Newslions, senior Railway Protection Force (RPF) cop BK Sinha said the woman reached the station late and was in a hurry to board the Chakradharpur-Howrah passenger train.

Fortunately, the cop's vigilance saved her life. Even with repeated warnings from railway police and officials, passengers tend to risk their lives by either trying to board or get down from moving trains.
