A ceiling collapsed inside a mall as shoppers rushed inside to shelter from the storm in the Philippines.

Footage shows the leaky structure falling as a security guard assisted shoppers to enter the building in Pasay City, Manila, on July 18.

No one was reported hurt in the incident while the area had been closed off following the incident.

Shopper Marilyn Sollestre said: ‘It was raining hard outside, so the others were rushing to enter the mall. The guard was trying to assist, but then the ceiling collapsed.'

The Philippines and other countries in Southeast Asia such as Malaysia, Indonesia and Thailand are in the middle of their tropical monsoon rainy season, which lasts until October or November.
