A hungry wild monkey stole a fizzy soda drink from a moving tourist's truck in Thailand.

The agile macaque waited for the vehicle to pass under its tree and jumped on it before landing on the bed where the bags and food were in Suphan Buri province on September 23.

It quickly rummaged for food and grabbed the Pepsi drink before escaping with the sweet refreshment.

Footage shows the primate clinging onto the soda bottle before jumping away.

Tourist Amnat Chawkingjak said: 'We were returning with my team to Bangkok and passed by a temple.

‘I took my mother with me, and on the way to Wat Khao Takiab there were a lot of monkeys. Then there was this one who really wanted to steal the bottle of Pepsi.'
