A massive cobra was rescued from a populated area in central India's Chhattisgarh.

The incident happened in Kolga village under Pasarkhet area of Korba Forest Division on October 16.

Visuals showed the snake catcher, RCRS chief Avinash Yadav at work, as he grabbed hold of the reptile by its tail and didn't let go, despite it becoming aggressive. Yadav tried to tame the snake with an iron rod on one of his hands but it was to no avail as the reptile, which had its hood up, tried to attack him multiple times but failed.

Yadav held on to the snake and eventually, captured and rescued it after an hour's effort. According to reports the snake was around 12-foot-long, a man named Chandrasekhar Rathore informed the officials after spotting the snake, which was found near the house of a man named Firtu Ram.
