Police appeal as man in his 60's dies after being hit by a lorry in Aldridge, West Midlands, England

West Midlands Police are appealing for information after a man died after being hit by a lorry in Aldridge this morning (25 October).

It happened near the junction of Northgate and Walsall Wood Road at just before 10.30am.

Despite the best efforts of emergency services the man, aged in his 60s, could not be saved.

A force spokesperson said: "Our thoughts are with his family and friends at this traumatic time and we'll be doing all we can to support them.

"We're still in the early stages of our enquiries to establish exactly what happened.

"We've spoken with the driver who is assisting our investigation.

:We'd ask for anyone who was in the area at the time, and may have dash cam footage, to get in touch.

"Anyone with information about what happened is asked to contact West Midlands Police on the force's website quoting 1238 of 25/10/22."
