Workers picked an electrocuted loris monkey hanging from a cable and released it into the forest.

Athichot Nuipetch and his colleagues were doing maintenance work when they noticed the primate twitching on the wire in Surat Thani province, Thailand, on June 16.

Footage shows one of the linemen reaching for the animal with a long pole. The creature fell into the ground and was inspected by the men.

Upon ensuring it could move, the team took it back to the woods and let it return to its habitat.

Athichot said: ‘We were working in the area when we saw a dark figure overhead. We realised it was a live monkey. It was slightly hurt.'

The lineman added that the creature might have been trying to cross between trees through the cables.

He said: ‘We were relieved it wasn't hurt so much. It was fine.'

Loris or 'wind monkeys' are small, nocturnal primates found in the forests of South and Southeast Asia. They are known for their large, expressive eyes, slow movements, and venomous bite.
