It is known that heavy rainfall on Saturday night resulted in a landslide disaster in the Pangas Area, Ogomojolo Hamlet, Palasa Lambori Village, Tomini District, Parigi Moutong, Central Sulawesi, Indonesia on Sunday, July 7 2024.

As a result of the landslide, two four-wheeled vehicles were hit by the landslide.

A silver ultra violet Kijang Innova car (SUV) without a license plate was hit by a tree while passing. This vehicle was driven by a resident with the initials SM who was with his family.

Residents and other passing motorists managed to get SM and his family out of the car that was hit by the large tree.

Even though the roof of the car was badly damaged, the driver, SM and his family, were not injured and continued their journey after the incident.

"I am very grateful, I and our family were in the car, there were 4 people, all of whom survived, even though the car had serious damage to the roof," said SM, the victim who was crushed by a large tree due to the landslide, who did not want to give his full name.

Meanwhile, another car was also swept away by an avalanche of water mixed with rocks. Luckily neither the driver nor passenger were injured. The vehicle is still at the scene and is in the process of being evacuated.

Due to this incident, the police at the scene appealed to the public to remain careful when driving because the weather was still drizzling and there were still long queues at the location.
