Driver Caught Going 85 in 50 Zone Faces Charges
TAMPA, Fla. — A driver was clocked going 85 mph in a 50 mph zone, landing herself a court date and serving as a reminder of the dangers of excessive speeding, Tampa police said.
In a video shared by the Tampa Police Department, officers pulled over the woman for driving 35 mph over the posted speed limit. Authorities emphasized that such behavior puts everyone at risk — including the driver, other motorists, and law enforcement.
“Speed limits are in place to protect lives,” the department stated. “Following posted signage keeps you out of court and helps keep our roads safe.”
Police urge all drivers to obey speed limits and drive responsibly to avoid preventable crashes and legal consequences.
