HOWELL TOWNSHIP, Mich. — Deputies from the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office stopped a stolen vehicle driven by a 15-year-old following a high-speed pursuit early Friday morning.

At approximately 3 a.m., deputies attempted to stop a 2015 Toyota Camry reported stolen out of Grand Rapids. The vehicle fled eastbound on I-96 near Mason Road, reaching speeds up to 100 mph as it traveled through Howell and Pinckney.

Deputies performed a Precision Immobilization Technique (PIT) maneuver in Hamburg Township, safely ending the pursuit and taking three juvenile occupants into custody without incident.

All three suspects, ages 14 and 15, are from the Grand Rapids and Kent County area. Two were on electronic monitoring at the time of the incident, and deputies recovered several financial transaction devices that did not belong to them.

The juveniles were later released to their parents. The case will be referred to the Kent County Prosecutor’s Office for potential charges.

The Livingston County Sheriff’s Office thanked the Hamburg Township Public Safety Department for its assistance.
