AURORA, Colo. — On a hot July day, Deputy Roll with the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call involving a distressed adult male who was non-verbal and functions at the level of a 6-year-old.

Upon arriving, Deputy Roll approached the man with empathy and patience. Understanding the individual’s challenges and visible distress, the deputy extended his hand and gently walked him back to his home, ensuring he was safe and out of the heat.
