Sarasota Police Cite Driver After Red-Light Crash at Intersection
SARASOTA, Fla. — Sarasota police say a driver who ran a red light at Myrtle Street and North Tamiami Trail caused a two-vehicle crash that left both cars heavily damaged.
The investigation found the driver continued through the intersection despite the red light, leading another vehicle to strike the passenger side. No injuries were reported, but the driver was cited for failing to stop at the light and unknowingly driving with a suspended license.
Police reminded drivers that red means stop and yellow means slow down, stressing that rushing through intersections can put everyone at risk.
