DANVILLE, Calif. — A traffic stop turned into an act of kindness when Danville police officers made sure a 4-year-old’s birthday party didn’t go without food.

During the stop last week, officers learned that the driver was unable to complete a food delivery — an order that was meant for a child’s birthday celebration. Rather than let the party go without lunch, the officers personally delivered the food themselves.

The family expressed gratitude for the gesture, and the story later spread on social media. The department said they were proud of their officers for going beyond their duties to serve the community in unexpected ways.
