Pinellas Deputy Gets Unexpected Assist From Rideshare Driver in Chase
PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. — A routine traffic stop turned into an unusual pursuit when a Pinellas County deputy received help from a quick-thinking rideshare driver, officials said.
Deputies said the incident began as a traffic stop before escalating into a foot chase. That’s when the driver, with a Mario Kart setup in the backseat, pulled up and offered the deputy a lift, reportedly saying, “let’s-a-go!”
The sheriff’s office shared the story with humor, thanking the driver for the assist and calling the moment a “legendary” save.
