A giant crocodile was found and captured by residents during a search for a missing person in the Lasolo River, North Konawe Regency, Southeast Sulawesi Province, on Monday evening, October 6, 2025.

Previously, a 50-year-old woman was reported missing after being attacked by a crocodile in the river.

Residents, along with the Joint Search and Rescue Team, who were searching for the victim, finally captured the crocodile suspected of attacking Nurliana Al Maulu, a 54-year-old housewife, a resident of Wanggudu Village, Asera District, North Konawe.

The video shows dozens of residents catching the giant crocodile from the river and evacuating it to land, following Nurliana's disappearance.

Nurliana died after being attacked by a crocodile in the Lasolo River. Residents, angry at the crocodile, reportedly managed to capture 10 large crocodiles during the search for the victim.

"It's true, we caught and cut up the crocodiles that attacked our family to death," said Arsil Laode, a relative of the victim.
