Forest guards gesture at young elephant to move on peacefully with the herd
This is a striking moment of communication between an elephant and a team of forest guards near Anchetty in South India on January 18.
Forest guards, who were monitoring movement of a massive elephant herd, had stopped traffic to let the animals cross a road.
While the herd made their crossing without any incident, a young elephant became wary of the forest guards standing too close to her comfort. She tried to seize them up and took a few steps in their direction.
Slightly taken aback, the guards waved their hands gesturing her to join the herd back and move on without causing trouble.
The elephant got the message and quickly retreated.
