A rain storm wreaked havoc across northeastern Thailand leaving houses, electrical posts and trees destroyed.

Gusty winds were approaching different locations in Khon Kaen province at 6pm on March 30 and getting stronger.

Twenty-two houses and mills of farmers were ripped by the wind while several trees and electrical posts were brought to the ground.

The destruction caused traffic jams and black out in the area and the mitigation official had to go evaluate the damages.

Khon Kaen governor Somsak Jangtrakul said: ‘26 districts suffered from the disaster. Some also face hailstorms.’

According to the Thai Meteorological Department the southwesterly and the southeasterly winds over the upper country caused thunderstorms and gusty winds.
