Amid the Covid-19 pandemic, there has been a spike in smuggling cases in southern India's Andhra Pradesh on June 16. The incident took place in Chebrolu in West Godavari district.

Visuals feature the officials recovering and seizing several sacks loaded with cannabis in broad daylight from a lorry. Following this, they stack and assemble all the illicit goods and confiscate the truck after apprehending the smugglers. Meanwhile, the cops disclose the entire matter to the public in a press conference to keep them aware.

Acting on a tip-off, the police officials carried out regular inspections near the railway gate in Chebrolu. After a while, they ambushed a lorry heading towards Hyderabad and recovered 961.2 kg (2,118 lbs) of marijuana worth Rs. 60 lakh (USD 81,399). They further arrested the two smugglers, Rasananda Pradhas and Subodha Pradhas, hailing from Ganjada village in Odisha.

Police official, Veerraju Garu, and his crew including Durgaprasad and S Nagraj, worked under the supervision of the senior authorities and executed the plan of action.
