Illegal trading has emerged as one of the most formidable challenges in southern India's Telangana on July 9. The incident took place in Ranga Reddy district.

Visuals feature several logs of sandalwood lying on the ground in the middle of the day. The authorities place the seized wood in a line-like formation and stand adjacent to it while a police official discloses the details of the case.

Two accused, identified as Adiboina Brahmaya and Batuka Yadayya, bought the Sandra logs at an auction at the Nandyal Forest Department, following which they began to deceive people by selling them as red sandalwood. The Shadnagar and Shamshabad police in Cyberabad further foiled their bid and seized 170 logs worth Rs. 15 lakh (USD 20,137) and arrested the two for defrauding locals and extorting money from them. Meanwhile, the officials are investigating the scam and will take strict action against the culprits.

Furthermore, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Prakash Reddy lauded Cyberabad DCP Sandeep Reddy, Shadnagar Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Kushalkar, Shamshabad Circle-Inspector (CI) Venkat Reddy, Shadnagar Urban CI Naveen Kumar, Sub-Inspector (SI) Suresh, SI Rajeshwar Reddy, and others for investigating the case.
