A clever elephant in Rotawewa, Sri Lanka made light work of a fence designed to stop it, on 30 July.

Video shows a tusker approaching the wire fencing before using considerable force to break the highest wires.

The savvy jumbo then carefully steps over the remaining wires to continue its journey. It was followed by two more elephants, looking for food.

Elephants in the region are known for straying off corridors reserved for them, so locals are familiar with such incidents.

Wildlife was having the best time while taking a tour of the forest cover in Sri Lanka on July 30. The incident took place in Rotawewa.

Visuals feature a tusker approaching the wire fencing amid the bushes and breaking it with all its force. After a while of struggle, the jumbo accomplishes its goal and walks through the area while two more elephants join it to cross the greenery to look for food.
