Nadungamuwa Raja, one of Asia's largest tuskers, was spotted preparing for the Festival of the Tooth in Sri Lanka on August 12. The incident took place in Pilimathalawa in the Kandy district.

Visuals feature the magnificent creature feasting on the leaves of the tree while its mahout washes its body and cleans it to prepare Nadungamuwa Raja for the Kandy Esala Perahera festival. The giant jumbo enjoys the time while flapping its ears as the onlookers gather around to behold the spectacle.

Nadungamuwa Raja is a native of Mysore and takes part in Kandy Esala Perahera, also known as The Festival of the Tooth, every year. This historical procession is held annually to pay homage to the Sacred Tooth Relic of Buddha, which is housed at the Sri Dalada Maligawa in Kandy. Moreover, the mahout, identified as Kalu Mama, prepared the jumbo for the festival while the tusker goes there on foot as it doesn't travel through vehicles.
