Officials of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) caught hold of a man who was carrying foreign currency worth USD 19,428.80 inside spice boxes and fryum packets in northern India's Delhi.

The incident happened on August 2 at the Indira Gandhi International airport in Delhi.

Visuals showed officials taking out currency notes placed between packets of flat fryums, commonly known as 'papad'.

Later, they also ripped open spice packets to take out hidden currency notes from inside them. The passenger was handed over to the customs department.

It was later learnt that the man was unable to provide valid authorisation for carrying such a big amount of foreign currency.
