Eight people were injured when a bus crashed on 50ft high flyover leaving it dangling over the edge in India on Saturday.

The coach lost control and smashed through a retaining wall before coming to a stop on the opposite side of the Tumakuru Road in Bangalore, Karnataka.

The driver, conductor and six passengers onboard the Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) bus were injured.

Despite the severity of the incident, the rest of the passengers on the bus miraculously escaped unharmed.

The injured individuals were promptly transported to nearby hospitals by the police, who helped passengers to escape from the wreckage.

Police said the driver's medical report will be crucial in determining if intoxication played a role in the accident.

Furthermore, a technical team is currently investigating the cause of the crash by examining the bus.

The bus was en route to Bangalor from Somwarpete at the time of the incident. Reports indicate that the bus would have plummeted 50ft below had it not become wedged between a bridge and the wall on the flyover.

The bus remained suspended from the flyover, with the front portion of the vehicle sustaining significant damage due to the severe impact.

Subsequently, authorities, in collaboration with the police, used a crane to safely remove the bus and clear the road.
