Video footage captures the dramatic rescue of a pregnant woman about to give birth in India.

The rescue team heroically saved the woman from a flooded boat during a recent deluge that swamped Karjeli Nala in Sironcha, Maharashtra, and quickly rushed her to the hospital.

The expectant mother Soni Santosh Atram, 26, from Karjeli in Sironcha, was stranded by relentless torrential rains in the Gadchiroli district when she unexpectedly went into labour.

Asha and health workers called the authorities to ensure her and her child's rescue and safety.

Despite the challenges posed by the surging canals and rivers around the village, SDRF rescuers successfully navigated the expectant mother to safety.

Although the village is bordered by substantial streams on both the north and south sides, it lacks a bridge to the mainland, making travel to and from the village hazardous during natural disasters.

The Indian Meteorological Department had previously issued warnings about heavy rainfall in low-lying areas and regions near streams.
