HAINES CITY, Fla. — A UPS driver is being hailed as a hero after stepping in to assist during the rescue of two young children accidentally locked inside their home.

According to the Haines City Police Department, the incident involved a two-year-old and a six-month-old who were trapped inside a residence. The UPS driver, identified as Mr. Perez, encountered the children’s guardian and quickly helped lift the garage door halfway before police arrived.

Officer Newell responded to the scene, made entry into the home, and found both children safe and unharmed.

“We thank Mr. Perez for his quick thinking and willingness to help during a critical moment,” the department wrote on Facebook. “Please join us in showing appreciation for this everyday hero who stepped up when it mattered most.”
