LIVINGSTON COUNTY, Mich. — A police pursuit of a stolen vehicle ended in a crash and arrest last Thursday after the suspect collided with another vehicle in Livingston County, authorities said.

The chase began when Fenton Police located the stolen car on southbound U.S. 23. Livingston County deputies joined the pursuit near Clyde Road. The suspect exited at Highland Road (M-59), sideswiped a vehicle near Argentine Road, then continued south on Hughes Road.

At the intersection of Hughes and Golf Club roads, the stolen vehicle ran a stop sign and struck a 2020 Chevrolet Silverado, causing it to overturn against a guard rail. The driver of the Silverado, a 66-year-old Howell man, was taken to U of M Hospital in Ann Arbor as a precaution and reported no serious injuries.

The suspect, identified as Jeremy Nelson, 42, of Ypsilanti, was arrested at the scene and later arraigned on charges of fleeing police and receiving and concealing a stolen vehicle. He remains in jail on a $100,000 cash surety bond with a parole detainer.
