CHINO, Calif. — The California Highway Patrol arrested a 21-year-old Moreno Valley man after he was caught street racing on State Route 60 in Chino.

Officers with CHP Rancho Cucamonga said the man was driving a Chrysler 300 and competing in a speed contest with an Alfa Romeo Giulia when both vehicles were observed racing westbound. The incident occurred in full view of a Specially Marked Patrol Vehicle.

The driver of the Chrysler 300 was pulled over and taken into custody for engaging in a speed contest and reckless driving. His vehicle was towed, and criminal charges are pending. The driver of the Alfa Romeo remains at large but is subject to arrest.

CHP officials issued a stern reminder that street racing is not only illegal but also dangerous. “If you choose to race, you could end up in jail, lose your car, or worse — cause a deadly tragedy,” the department said.

The California Highway Patrol remains committed to preventing street racing and ensuring the safety of all motorists.
