GROVE CITY, Ohio — On July 18, 2025, Grove City Police officers attempted to stop a silver Nissan—lacking a license plate—exiting the Parkway Centre area. The suspect driver, a teenager, refused to yield and struck multiple vehicles while fleeing.

Deputies deployed spike strips that disabled the vehicle, forcing the suspects to abandon it. A CPD chopper later assisted in locating the fleeing individuals. The driver was found hiding in a creek while holding a small child.

Authorities charged the driver with obstructing official business, failure to comply with a police order, endangering children, and various traffic offenses, including hit-skip. The passenger was charged with obstructing official business. Both suspects, who are under 18, have not been publicly identified.

Officials credit the coordinated response for preventing further injuries and ensuring public safety.
