A motorcycle rider was shocked to discover a puppy stuck inside his bike's engine.

Angelico Sapangila was travelling to work when he heard a faint bark coming from his vehicle in Cebu, the Philippines.

This prompted him to pull over and check where the noise was coming from on October 22.

Footage shows Angelico and his friend carefully pulling the hapless pooch wedged in a narrow space near the wheels.

The visibly frightened dog can be seen pushing itself deeper inside, but they eventually managed to free the pooch by gently grabbing its limbs and easing it out.

The puppy did not sustain any injuries from the incident.

Angelico said: 'I'm glad we were able to rescue the puppy. Otherwise, it might have fallen off and been run over by my tyres or hit by other vehicles on the road.'
