Thousands of homebound daily wage labourers flee Delhi on foot amid nationwide lockdown, rescued by police personnel in northern India
Police officials have tracked down thousands of daily wage labourers who have fled Delhi homebound on foot in the north Indian state of Uttar Pradesh.
The incident took place in Bulandshahr on March 26, 2020.
The video shows, the officials distributing food packages to every person walking back home traversing hundreds of kilometres.
According to the reports, the Uttar Pradesh Government had ordered the officials to trace the people who fled Delhi.
Following this, they were provided with health checkup, food supplies and were dropped off home on a bus.
Thousands of people along with their families were rescued in the operation.
