A snake was rescued from a supermarket in central India's Chhattisgarh.

The incident happened at the Shubham Super Market in Ravi Shankar Nagar Area of Korba district on November 3.

Visuals showed snake catcher Jitendra Sarathi at work, as he cleared out items kept on a rack to take out the snake behind it. The reptile was spotted behind one of the shelves at the store, where items were kept. People who were at the store panicked after seeing the snake and soon the shop operator Subham Pandey informed Sarathi, who is a forest department member.

Sarathi soon arrived and captured the snake. He nonchalantly picked up the snake that was escaping while he was clearing out the shelf and walked out of the store, with it.

The snake, Sarathi said, was a krait which is a poisonous one. The reptile was later put in a sack, much to the relief of everyone at the spot.
