This is the heroic moment kind neighbours carried an elderly residents home to a new location so he could live next to his children.

Footage shows more than 20 men heaving the 7ft-high structure on stilts along a dirt road in Zamboanga del Norte, the Philippines on November 6.

The group stopped every ten minutes to rest as families and friends along the route cheered them on.

Local Rhezelle Aranjuez said the house belongs to an old man who lives alone.

She said: ‘The grandfather didn't have anyone to take care of him because his wife was already dead so his children wanted him to live nearby.

‘However, his house was too heavy for his relatives so some of our neighbours volunteered to help.'

Rhezelle added it took the men almost two hours before they successfully transferred the house to its new lot.

She said: ‘They were all tired after that but the old man's daughters cooked a meal for them. It was like a fiesta.'
