Hero neighbours rescued a little boy and his family stranded on a roof during flood in the Philippines.

Footage shows the men assisting a boy wearing an inflatable vest to hop inside a ring with a good Samaritan in Manila, the Philippines, on July 24.

He clung to the back of the man who pulled across a rope tied between two houses so he could take the boy to a higher roof.

Everyone cheered when the kid was moved safely, and his family crossed next.

Neighbour Roxan Joy Santiago said: 'The boy and his family were stranded on the roof during the typhoon. I am proud of our community for always being there for each other.'

Typhoon Gaemi killed 22 in the Philippines after lashing through mainland Luzon for almost a week, intensifying monsoon rains. It headed to Taiwan, killing three people and injuring more than 200 when it made landfall.
