COMMERCE CITY, Colo. — A man with a history of fleeing police was arrested after a Commerce City patrol officer recognized his plate-less motorcycle and used quick thinking to stop another attempted escape.

According to police, the officer quietly stopped one car away from the motorcycle and approached on foot, preventing the suspect from riding off. As the suspect tried to flee, the officer grabbed the clutch, stopping the engine and foiling the plan.

The man then attempted to run but was quickly apprehended. Police say the convicted felon was carrying a handgun and a bag of cocaine at the time of arrest.

He is now facing multiple charges, including possession of a weapon by a previous offender, unlawful possession of a controlled substance, obstruction, resisting arrest, and several traffic violations. Authorities also confirmed he had an outstanding warrant.
