Lee County Deputies Rescue Person After Cape Coral Bridge Jump
CAPE CORAL, Fla. — Two Lee County Sheriff’s Office deputies are being credited with saving a person’s life after responding to a call about an individual who jumped from the Cape Coral Bridge on Aug. 11.
Deputy Jacob Sahagian was the first to arrive, locating the victim treading water. He and Deputy Abreu climbed down to reach the individual, staying alongside them until the Iona McGregor Fire Department arrived. The victim was transported to a hospital for care.
Authorities remind the public that help is available for those in crisis. Call or text 988 for the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline.
