HARRISBURG, Pa. — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is urging drivers to stay alert and obey speed limits after reporting 16 work zone attenuator crashes so far this year.

According to PennDOT, several of these incidents have caused injuries to highway workers and led to costly equipment repairs and replacements. A newly released video shows one of the recent crashes, emphasizing the dangers road crews face daily while maintaining Pennsylvania’s highways.

“Fortunately, no one was injured in this crash,” PennDOT stated, “but it highlights the importance of slowing down, wearing your seatbelt, and avoiding distractions behind the wheel.”

The agency continues to remind motorists that safety in work zones depends on everyone — including those traveling through them.
