Beautiful antelope unexpectedly walks through our garden

During our stay at a private camp in the Kruger National Park, we were pleasantly surprised by the site of a beautiful male Nyala antelope wandering through the tranquil gardens of our camp. This stunning looking creature seemed very relaxed and calm. He casually spend a few minutes on the open lawn after which he proceeded to wander off along the front part of the garden until he disappeared behind the lounge area.
Nyala bulls are the most striking of antelopes in the African wild. The males are slate grey with up to fourteen white stripes along the back and white spots on the flanks and belly. The lower part of each leg is yellow in colour and contrasts strongly with the rest of the body. A shaggy white-tipped mane extends down the back and a fringe along the under-neck and belly. Males have beautiful spiralled horns. The Nyala bull uses these attractive features to express his individual impressiveness and superiority. We felt very fortunate and blessed to have such a strikingly beautiful wild animal visiting us in the garden for a brief moment.
