Shocked residents remove 22ft python from canal in Indonesia
Shocked residents removed a 22ft python from a canal in Indonesia.
Terrified locals discovered the snake in the flowing water in Luwu, South Sulawesi, on January 30.
Footage shows men using long bamboo sticks to retrieve the reptile. They then straightened the animal to measure it before transporting it back to the forest, away from residential areas.
Shocked villager Ardi said: 'We immediately evacuated the snake from the canal as soon as we found it.'
No one was harmed in the encounter.
Pythons are nonvenomous constrictors that prey on rodents, birds, lizards, and mammals. They lack venomous fangs and consume their prey whole by swallowing them.
