PITTSBURG, Calif. — Caught on camera and now under investigation, a brazen act of vandalism at the Pittsburg Police Department has prompted a public call for help in identifying the suspect.

Around 5:29 p.m. Sunday, a witness on Davi Avenue reported a Hispanic male throwing large rocks at patrol vehicles parked in the department’s unsecured rear lot. Surveillance footage shows the man riding a silver and black bicycle and wearing a fluorescent green long-sleeve shirt. He approached from Power Avenue and damaged the windshields of both the MLK and Pittsburg High School Resource vehicles before fleeing north on Davi Avenue, possibly into City Park.

The suspect remains unidentified, and officers have been reviewing city surveillance and canvassing the area.

Police are asking residents and business owners nearby to check their security footage around the time of the incident. Anyone with information is urged to contact Detective Simpson at (925) 252-4805.
