GREEN COVE SPRINGS, Fla. — Clay County Sheriff’s Office deputies recently came to the aid of a feral cat trapped in a plastic jar, turning a tense call into a life-saving rescue.

Deputies Druash, MacClellan, and PSA Smith responded to an animal complaint about the cat, which was weak and disoriented after likely being stuck for several days. During the initial rescue attempt, the animal slipped into a drainage ditch, but Deputy Druash was able to safely retrieve it.

With PSA Smith’s quick thinking and a perfectly sized pair of scissors, the team carefully removed the jar without causing further harm. Once freed, the cat regained its strength and quickly ran off. The Sheriff’s Office also thanked local residents who cheered on the deputies and offered assistance during the rescue.
