A leopard was caught in a snare set up to catch wild pigs.

Residents of a village near Banswara in North India saw the trapped animal on January 4 and informed forest officials.

The animal was in pain and growling.

Forest officials tranquilised the leopard and took it away. “We will treat its wounded leg and then release it back to the forest,” said an official.
