NAPLES, Fla. — A 15-year-old Naples teenager is facing a felony charge after deputies say he led them on a dangerous pursuit through rush-hour traffic Tuesday, reaching speeds close to 70 mph on an electric dirt bike.

Deputies patrolling near Golden Gate Parkway and 66th Street Southwest observed Kyle Vincent Siemon, 15, riding on a sidewalk, speeding and performing stunts with no regard for pedestrians, according to the Collier County Sheriff’s Office. When deputies attempted to stop him, Siemon fled, weaving between vehicles and jumping sidewalks.

Due to the dangerous conditions, deputies quickly ended the pursuit. Moments later, Siemon rode down a hill into a ditch near Santa Barbara Boulevard and Recreation Lane, where his bike became stuck. Deputies safely took him into custody without incident.

“This young man’s reckless riding put countless pedestrians and motorists at risk,” Sheriff Kevin Rambosk said. “I am grateful for the professional response of our deputies in bringing this incident to a safe resolution.”

Siemon was transported to the Collier County jail and is charged with fleeing and eluding law enforcement.
