Five villagers got lucky as they found diamonds worth $86,864 while working at a diamond mine in central India's Madhya Pradesh.

The incident took place in Panna district on September 28.

According to reports, the number of diamonds found in 2022 is more than that of 2021. Anupam Singh, a resident of Kallu Sonkar found a valuable diamond of 6.81 carats in Krishna Kalyanpur Patti diamond mine. The estimated price of this diamond is said to be around Rs 25 lakh (USD 30,586.10).

A 1.77 carat diamond found in Patti mine, came the way of Raja Bai, a resident of Chhatarpur. The diamond is estimated to be worth 4 to 5 lakhs (USD 4,893.78 to USD 6,117.22). In this sequence, Rajesh Jain resident of Panna found a diamond of 2.28 carat in Patti mine, whose estimated value is being told to be more than 10 lakhs (USD 12,234.44).

The third local has been identified as Prakash Mazumdar from Jaruapur village, who has found a diamond of 3.64 carat in Jaruapur mine, estimated to be worth Rs 12 lakh (USD 14,681.33). Rahul Agarwal, the fourth one, is a resident of Panna has acquired a diamond of 4.32 carat in Patti mine whose value is also estimated to be more than 20 lakh rupees (USD 24,468.88).

The diamonds have been deposited by these people at the district's diamond office. All these gems are said to be of good quality, which will be auctioned from October 18.
